The main reason for staying on sierra is that I also use Adobe CS4 - I am poor and can't afford Adobe CC subscription. I sincerely appreciate any brainstorming help on this option. The only other idea I had was to reach way back in my experience level and create a Carbon Copy Cloner bootable copy if the working Sierra system and then copy it onto the new 2018 MBP via target disk status. This didn't seem possible since it would revert to internet recovery every time and re-install mojave. If this was successful, I would then restore from the Time Machine backup I had created from the working 2016 MBP that I had created on Sierra. As expected, the new Mac OS introduces Dark Mode. The public version of all the announcements will be rolled out in this fall. The Developer beta for the OS’ are now available for download. Going a different direction, I attempted to install Sierra on the 2018 MBP 13 inch from a usb drive install. This year too Apple has announced key software updates like macOS Mojave, iOS 12, tvOS, watchOS 5, and updated Siri. The backup was created with a 2016 MBP 13 inch. The error says "this backup was created with a different model mac" What i have tried to do several times is to restore the complete Sierra system from a Time Machine backup.
